Manage your domains, DNS and renewals
Domain management for every name you own, from one client area. Point domains at your hosting, set up DNS records, and keep renewals on track.
Everything in one client area
Every domain you register or transfer to ResellerBytes appears next to your hosting and invoices.
One login, one renewal list, and one place to look when something stops working. If you can't find a setting there, open a ticket and our team will make the change with you.
DNS management
DNS records tell the internet where to send visitors and email for your domain. DNS management is a free add-on when you register a domain with us.
A record
Points your domain at a server's IP address.
CNAME
Points a subdomain, such as www or shop, at another name.
MX records
Tell other servers where to deliver your email.
TXT records
Verify ownership and hold email security records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Nameservers
Nameservers decide which company answers DNS questions for your domain. New domains use our nameservers by default.
- If your hosting is with ResellerBytes, use the nameservers from your welcome email and your DNS is handled there.
- If your site is hosted elsewhere, enter that host's nameservers instead, either on the order page or later from the domain's settings.
- Nameserver and DNS changes can take up to 24 to 48 hours to reach every network, though most update much sooner.
Renewals
A domain is registered for a fixed term and has to be renewed to stay active. If it lapses, your website and email stop working.
Auto-renew
Renews the domain before expiry so it stays active even if you miss a reminder.
Invoices and reminders
Renewal invoices and reminders go to your account email ahead of the expiry date. Keep that address current.
Manual renewal
Renew from the client area any time before the expiry date.
See renewal pricesLocking and transfers
Keep control of who can move your domain, and keep registry contact details accurate.
Registrar lock
Stops anyone transferring your domain away without your say. Leave it on unless you're moving the domain.
EPP code
The code another registrar asks for if you choose to move a domain out. Request it from the client area or by ticket.
Contact details
The registry uses the registrant contact for important notices. Keep the email current.
Extras
Optional tools you can add when you register or manage a domain.
Email forwarding
A free add-on when you register. It forwards mail sent to your domain to an inbox you already use.
ID Protection
A paid add-on that keeps your personal details out of public domain records where the extension allows it. WHOIS and privacy explains which details are public.
How do I point my domain to my hosting?
If your hosting is with ResellerBytes, set the domain's nameservers to the ones in your hosting welcome email. That's usually all it takes. If you'd rather keep your current nameservers, add an A record pointing your domain at your server's IP address instead. Changes can take up to 24 to 48 hours to reach every network, and our getting-started guide shows each step.
Where do I manage DNS records?
If your domain uses your ResellerBytes hosting nameservers, manage DNS records from your hosting control panel. If you added DNS management to the domain instead, use the domain's page in the client area. Our knowledge base has help articles, and our team can tell you which place applies to your domain.
How do I renew my domain?
Renew from the client area any time before the expiry date, or leave auto-renew on so it happens on time. Renewal prices for each extension are listed on our domain pricing page, along with what happens if a domain passes its expiry date.
Can I change nameservers myself?
Yes. Open the domain in your client area, enter the new nameservers, save, and allow time for the change to spread. If you get stuck, open a ticket. If your email is hosted somewhere other than your website, check your MX records afterward so mail keeps arriving.
