These terms cover registering, renewing, transferring and expiring domains with ResellerBytes.
1. Who provides your domain
ResellerBytes is a service brand of Diligent Creators Pvt. Ltd. ResellerBytes sells domain registration services through an accredited domain registrar (the "Registrar").
When you register, renew or transfer a domain through us, you agree to:
- these Domain Registration Terms;
- our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy;
- the Registrar's registration agreement, which we'll send you on request;
- the policies of the registry that runs your domain extension (for example, the registry for .com or a country-code extension); and
- applicable ICANN policies.
If these terms conflict with the Registrar's agreement or a registry or ICANN policy, the Registrar's agreement or that policy applies.
2. Your rights and responsibilities as a registrant
ICANN publishes a summary of the rights and responsibilities of domain registrants: Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities. In summary:
You're entitled to:
- review the Registrar's registration agreement at any time and keep a copy;
- accurate information about the identity of the Registrar, its terms and pricing, its support services, and how to raise concerns and resolve disputes;
- clear instructions for registering, managing, transferring, renewing and restoring your domain; and
- freedom from false advertising and deceptive practices, including hidden fees.
You're responsible for:
- following the terms of the Registrar, the registry and ICANN;
- reviewing the Registrar's current registration agreement and any updates;
- the registration and use of your domain;
- giving accurate contact information for the public registration data directory and updating it promptly when it changes;
- responding to inquiries from the Registrar within fifteen (15) days and keeping your account information current; and
- keeping your payment information current if you've chosen automatic renewal.
3. Accurate contact information
3.1 You must provide complete, accurate contact details for the registrant and other domain contacts, and keep them up to date.
3.2 ICANN rules require the Registrar to verify certain contact details. After registration or a change of contact details, you may receive a verification email. If you don't verify within the time stated, the domain may be suspended until you do.
3.3 Giving false information, or failing to respond to requests to correct it, can lead to suspension or cancellation of the domain.
3.4 The person or organization listed as the registrant is the domain holder. If you register a domain for a client (for example, as a reseller or agency), list your client as the registrant unless they've agreed otherwise in writing.
4. Registration and renewal
4.1 Domains are registered for the term you select at checkout, usually in yearly increments. Domain names are registered on a first-come, first-served basis. An order isn't complete until the registry confirms the registration, and we can't guarantee a domain will be available until it does.
4.2 Domain prices, including renewal prices, are shown on our website and at checkout and come from our billing system: Live price from WHMCS. Renewal prices may differ from first-year prices and may change if the registry changes its fees.
4.3 You can turn auto-renew on or off for each domain in the client area. We send renewal reminders to your account email address before the expiry date, as required by ICANN's Expired Registration Recovery Policy.
4.4 It's your responsibility to renew on time. Keep your email address and payment method current so reminders and renewal charges reach you.
5. Expiry, grace and redemption
5.1 If a domain isn't renewed by its expiry date, it stops working: websites and email that use it will go offline.
5.2 For many extensions, there's a renewal grace period after expiry during which you can renew at the normal renewal price. The length of this period varies by extension. For .com, it's 30 days.
5.3 After the grace period, the domain may enter a redemption period. Restoring a domain during redemption costs more than a normal renewal because the registry charges a restore fee. For .com, the redemption period is 30 days. Current restore fees for each extension are listed on our domain pricing page.
5.4 If the domain isn't restored, it will be released and may be registered by someone else. Grace and redemption periods vary by extension, and some country-code extensions have none.
6. Transfers
6.1 Transferring away. You can transfer your domain to another registrar. To do so, unlock the domain in the client area and request the authorization (EPP) code. We won't unreasonably refuse or delay a transfer request.
6.2 Transfer locks. Under ICANN's Transfer Policy, a domain generally can't be transferred to another registrar within 60 days of its initial registration or a previous transfer. A change of registrant may also trigger a 60-day transfer lock unless you opt out where allowed.
6.3 A transfer may also be refused if the domain is expired, subject to a dispute, has unpaid fees, or is subject to a court order or registry lock.
6.4 Transferring in. When you transfer a domain to us, the transfer adds a year to its registration term, except for certain extensions and recently renewed domains. The transfer fee is non-refundable once the transfer starts.
7. Privacy and registration data
7.1 Registration data may be published in public registration data directories (known as WHOIS and RDAP), subject to the Registrar's and registry's redaction policies.
7.2 For extensions that support it, you can add ID Protection to a domain as a paid add-on. It replaces your personal contact details in public registration data with substitute details. See WHOIS & Privacy.
7.3 Where privacy or proxy services are used, the provider may still disclose your details to resolve abuse reports, comply with legal requests or follow ICANN policy.
7.4 How we handle registrant data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disputes over domain names
8.1 If someone claims your domain infringes their trademark, the dispute may be handled under ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) or the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) system, or under the dispute policy of the relevant country-code registry.
8.2 You agree to take part in these proceedings where they apply. We and the Registrar will follow the decisions of dispute-resolution providers and courts, which may include transferring or canceling the domain.
8.3 During a dispute, a domain may be locked against transfer or changes.
9. Use of your domain
You may not use a domain registered through us for any purpose that breaches our Acceptable Use Policy, including phishing, malware distribution, spam or infringement. The Registrar, the registry or we may suspend, lock or cancel a domain used for abuse, or where required by law, a court order or registry policy.
10. Country-code and special extensions
Some extensions (for example country-code domains such as .uk, .ca or .eu) have their own eligibility rules, documentation requirements and policies set by their registry. You must meet those requirements. Additional terms may be shown at checkout.
11. Refunds
Domain registrations, renewals, transfers and restore fees are non-refundable once the order is submitted to the registry, except where the registration fails or the law requires otherwise. See our Refund Policy.
12. Liability
Domain availability, registry operations and dispute decisions are outside our control. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for loss caused by a domain's expiry, a registry or Registrar action, or a dispute decision. Section 20 (Limitation of liability) of our Terms of Service applies.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Diligent Creators Pvt. Ltd., and the competent courts having jurisdiction over Diligent Creators Pvt. Ltd. have jurisdiction over disputes about them, except where the Registrar's agreement, a registry policy or ICANN policy requires otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these terms to reflect changes in Registrar, registry or ICANN requirements. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
